band names. i must have such a fascination with them. because this would be the second conversation i've had with someone about band names. and you know, as shallow or lame as these conversations sound, they are actually kind of special to me. for one thing, it takes two people of similar music taste to have intelligent conversations about bands and actually understand the humor in it all. for me, there're few that i actually match well in music taste with, dave steph and lizhou being three of them.
i think it's a shame that such amazing bands can have such lame names. i mean, certain names are not the most creative but they're ok. they could be artistic in some way. the white stripes, they aren't particularly original but at least it's not completely silly. the yeah yeah yeahs is another good band. the name mgiht as well be the whatevers. and that isn't that bad either. but arctic monkeys. one of my new favorites. ARCTIC MONKEYS. why not TROPICAL PENGUINS. i just don't get it. i can't imagine there being any more significance to arctic monkeys than... monkeys from the arctic. maybe there is, i just haven't found the true meaning yet. but yea, i'm all bananas for arctic monkeys anyway. ha ha. what about... really simple names? they're actually some of the funniest. korn? peas? pickle? somehow pickle and peas just dont sound as hardcore.
